I’m not here to make a huge schpeal about being green, since I know many readers are already quite informed about this subject, but I came across this awesome idea: the candle fireplace. It also works for the old fireplaces, which are too dangerous to light up.
Here’s what you do: get a few different sized candles, about 6 to 10, put them in your fireplace, and voilà, your very own candle fireplace. It doesn’t offer the same kind of warmth a real fire would but it does offer the same amount of light, so you can enjoy your fireplace all year round.
